This is my third daughter being born. Yes, I gave birth to her and took the picture, that's my hand reaching up to grab her and that's my husband who is handing her to me. He asked if he could deliver her and the doctor said it was okay! So, technically it's not the best picture ever, the focus isn't great but I was really just holding the camera out to the side and semi aiming while I clicked the shutter, I was a little distracted. I had wanted to take pictures during the birth of my first baby (I had never heard of a birth photographer back then) but all the mothers that I knew told me that it would be impossible and I believed them. Then, after I delivered my second daughter myself while riding in the car (another story for another time), I thought, "Hey, if someone else will catch the baby, I can certainly take pictures!" This is the result and I love it! I can't remember this moment on my own, I was way too in the moment to take a mental picture, no epidural will do that to you! I wish I had pictures of the births of my other two, at least I have Gracie's.
